This brick bungalow, now one of three buildings, was built in 1903 for W.A. Windeyer and was altered and enlarged in 1907 or 1908. Mr Windeyer, who was mayor after World War I, died in 1943 and his widow and her daughter lived here until 1959, when the property was sold and subdivided. The stables at Wurley had been the stables of Passy, whose land extended to Ferry Street. Wurley is an Aboriginal name and the addition of Court was made later. The house is now part of a retirement village for ex-service women and war widows.
