Antonio Bondietti, a Swiss-Italian stonemason, built this cottage in 1866 on land bought from J. Carmini. During 1871 Bondietti sold to John Quirk, quarryman, who lived here presumably until his death and his widow, Elizabeth Quirk, lived here until she was over one hundred years of age.  (See also 25 Madeline Street).
