A California Bungalow built in 1927 by Edwin Sinclair Jeanneret, son of C.E. Jeanneret, on part of the Wybalena subdivision. Edwin’s widowed mother, Julia Ann Jeanneret, had lived next door at Wybalena, 22 Woolwich Road, until her death in 1919, and the house remained in the Jeanneret family until 1946. Together with its neighbour Wybalena, Wingadee is part of a precinct of Jeanneret houses located in the area of Woolwich Road from Wybalena Road to Blake Avenue and including Crescent Street, Futuna Street, Glenview Crescent, and Jeanneret Avenue. It retains its California Bungalow features – dark-stained joinery, decorative plaster ceilings, window seats, diamond-paned leadlight windows, wide gable, exterior walls of brick and roughcast render, chimney, roof of terracotta tiles, leadlight roundel at the front entrance, and the name Wingadee on a small plaque near the entrance. It also retains its stone fence so characteristic of Hunters Hill.
