Charles Smith had acquired the title to a large portion of his business associate Didier Joubert’s land holding in 1864, and he sold a number of lots in 1882 after Joubert’s death. This lot was sold to Charles Purnell (see 10 Gladesville Road) then it passed to Ellen O’Shea, spinster. She sold to Bridget McCaig, dairykeeper who, according to the Municipal Electoral Roll of 1893, was in Mark Street.
