Frederick E. Espenhahn lived in this cottage from 1888. He built several other houses on this Sunnyside Subdivision (see 1, 3, 5 Gladstone Avenue). In 1914, Edward Espenhahn was living in Sanderslaben, and later it was owned by Florence Espenhahn.
