In 1899 this land was owned by Richard G.P. Simmonds, of Balmain, and Sands Directory shows R.G.P. and H.G. Simmonds as living here in 1901. The property was acquired by John Taylor of Greenwich in 1907 and transferred to George Taylor in 1920.
