In 1881 on vacant land which he owned, Antonio Bondietti, stonemason, built this house and by 1884, Dr Niblett appears to have been its owner and Mrs Kirwan was its tenant. In 1885, Charles Christie was listed as living here and paid the rates; he called the house Crucia.
