Frederick Nelson rented a house and shop from John Cuneo until 1881 when this ten room stone house, store and shop was built. A small shop was added on the east side of the main building on the original carriage way. The appearance has been altered after the property was burnt out by fire in the early 2000s and a large glass window now references the original shop front.
