FORTUNA

This charming late Victorian slate roofed cottage was leased by Lawrence Kelly to Mrs Henrietta Wilson, newsagent, who was a tenant in this house in 1888. The land belonged to a Swiss-Italian gunsmith with a shop in George Street, Sydney, Giovanni Battista Modini. His son also became a newsagent in Hunters Hill. In 1924 it was Felix Cullen’s property and was called Fortuna.
