11 Wybalena Road

This is a modern house, built of materials recovered from buildings removed in the early 1960s, including the well known St Malo demolished to make way for the Expressway near Joubert Street. The unusual leaf shaped roof tiles are of an interesting design and came from Figtree Chapel, now St Mark’s Church, which was dismantled stone by stone and rebuilt in its present site in Figtree Road.
