This house has a foundation stone marked AD 1902. Sands Directory lists William Sewell, JP, of Queensland, living here from 1904 (he had been living in Bayfield next door); the house was named Ethandune. This is an elaborate version of Federation architecture, with sandstone foundations, polychrome brick, stucco, shingles, decorative sandstone inserts, stained glass, slate roof and slim chimneys of white stucco with red brick trim, a circular entrance arch and a conical copper turret on the southern side. The architect was George W. Durrell, who also designed 14 Ferry Street and 18 Woolwich Road.
