24 Ferry Street and 1B Toocooya Road (Jalna) form one building, now divided into two dwellings. 24 Ferry Street may have been the house of Fred Thurston and if so, dates from the 1860s. Arthur Yates, the seed merchant, possibly lived here in 1889. The kitchen of the Georgian style house is now incorporated into Jalna, which was added on, judging by the stone work, rock face and rounded windows, at the turn of the century. A date of 1907 was found in the plasterwork during restoration.
